Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1.5 pounds Italian sausage
- 1 cup finely diced yellow onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons SAVA pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 (28 oz.) cans of crushed tomatoes
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
Cooked pasta to your liking
Directions:
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium.
- Add sausage and cook until brown.
- Remove sausage and set aside.
- Add onion to the pan and sauté until golden brown.
- Add garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low.
- Add sausage, celery salt, basil, oregano, bay leaf, sugar, SAVA pure vanilla extract, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 2 hours to blend flavors.
- Remove bay leaf. Serve over favorite pasta.
